Crymein Old School London Legend New Graffiti Pictures

Crymein was one of the original London Graffiti Character painters starting out with Drome (R.I.P.) in South London, going on to paint Airbrush T-shirts at the 1st London Hip-Hop Shop "4 Star General" on Carnaby St where his talents were spotted by Public Enemy (he made an Airbrush T-shirt for P.E. front man Chuck D), going on to work for Model company Games Workshop. In the early 2000's he went digital working as in house artist for the seminal Hip-Hop Magazine Undercover, which is where I first met him, as a journalist, and the result was the interview I did with him in  Graphotism issue 35. Currently Crymein is a working Tattooist, and recently he's been painting some of his trademark burner characters around London.

The collective comprises some of the most eclectic and prolific artists in the global graffiti scene today, with each individual artist boasting what can be described as their own ‘signature’ style. Formed in 1996 by brothers ‘Shucks’ and ‘Tizer’; the ID crew was started as a collective of their friends who they felt were underrated. The letters ‘ID’ after their name gave each member a drive to continually set the bar higher for themselves, whilst carving a niche within the scene.

This, their very first crew show, provides a fascinating insight into their individual practices, the way the collective works together, and their influence on UK graffiti.

Kay One GT/93NT Interviews Mode2 (In English & Francais)

Kay & Mode2 in Paris Early 90's

In London many people know Kay One for the his Underground French Hip-Hop Shop in Seven Dials - Covent Garden or his early work for Maharishi that gave it its street style, or the early 90's Paris/London DJ Battles. But for those that don't know, Kay One was/is a Parisian Graffiti/Hip-Hop Legend, DJ, worked at the original Deal Real, Journalist.
